Acts 23:8

Greek	Σαδδουκαῖοι μὲν γὰρ λέγουσιν μὴ εἶναιplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigεἰμί greek εἰμί is the first person singular verb for “to be” (εἶναι [the infinitive form] = “to be”). It an irregular verb, and, like English, changes significantly between person and tense. For example εἰμί is the word for am and ἦν is the word for was, e.g. ἀνάστασιν μήτε ἄγγελον μήτε πνεῦμα, Φαρισαῖοι δὲplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigδέ greek δέ is a conjunction that can mean “but” or “and” or “also” or “moreover”. It is a word that is used very frequently in the New Testament, and is often unexpressed and not translated in English. ὁμολογοῦσιν τὰplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigὁ greek The definite article ἀμφότερα.
ESV	For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, nor angel, nor spirit, but the Pharisees acknowledge them all.
NIV	(The Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, and that there are neither angels nor spirits, but the Pharisees acknowledge them all.)
NLT	for the Sadducees say there is no resurrection or angels or spirits, but the Pharisees believe in all of these.
KJV	For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both.
