1 Thessalonians 5:4

Greek	ὑμεῖς δέ,plugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigδέ greek δέ is a conjunction that can mean “but” or “and” or “also” or “moreover”. It is a word that is used very frequently in the New Testament, and is often unexpressed and not translated in English. ἀδελφοί, οὐκ ἐστὲplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigεἰμί greek εἰμί is the first person singular verb for “to be” (εἶναι [the infinitive form] = “to be”). It an irregular verb, and, like English, changes significantly between person and tense. ESV	But you are not in darkness, brothers, for that day to surprise you like a thief.
NIV	But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief.
NLT	But you aren't in the dark about these things, dear brothers and sisters, and you won't be surprised when the day of the Lord comes like a thief.
KJV	But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
