2 Corinthians 1:24

Greek	οὐχ ὅτι κυριεύομεν ὑμῶν τῆςplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigὁ greek The definite article πίστεως, ἀλλὰ συνεργοί ἐσμενplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigεἰμί greek εἰμί is the first person singular verb for “to be” (εἶναι [the infinitive form] = “to be”). It an irregular verb, and, like English, changes significantly between person and tense. For example εἰμί is the word for am and ἦν is the word for was, e.g. τῆςplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigὁ greek The definite article χαρᾶς ὑμῶν, τῇplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigὁ greek The definite article γὰρ πίστει ἑστήκατε.
ESV	Not that we lord it over your faith, but we work with you for your joy, for you stand firm in your faith.
NIV	Not that we lord it over your faith, but we work with you for your joy, because it is by faith you stand firm.
NLT	But that does not mean we want to dominate you by telling you how to put your faith into practice. We want to work together with you so you will be full of joy, for it is by your own faith that you stand firm.
KJV	Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand.
