Acts 8:23

IT is most frequently translated as “and” σύνδεσμον ἀδικίας ὁρῶ σε ὄντα.plugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigεἰμί greek εἰμί is the first person singular verb for “to be” (εἶναι [the infinitive form] = “to be”). It an irregular verb, and, like English, changes significantly between person and tense. For example εἰμί is the word for am and ἦν is the word for was, e.g.
ESV	For I see that you are in the gall of bitterness and in the bond of iniquity.“
NIV	For I see that you are full of bitterness and captive to sin.“
NLT	for I can see that you are full of bitter jealousy and are held captive by sin.“
KJV	For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.
