Luke 9:25

It is a word that is used very frequently in the New Testament, and is often unexpressed and not translated in English. ἀπολέσας ἢ ζημιωθείς;
ESV	For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself?
NIV	What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit his very self?
NLT	And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but are yourself lost or destroyed?
