In Hebrew, it is a marker of the accusative, i.e. the word following it is the object of the sentence. NLT	Don't stare at me because I am dark– the sun has darkened my skin. My brothers were angry with me; they forced me to care for their vineyards, so I couldn't care for myself– my own vineyard.
LXX	μὴ βλέψητέ με ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμιplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigεἰμί greek εἰμί is the first person singular verb for “to be” (εἶναι [the infinitive form] = “to be”). It an irregular verb, and, like English, changes significantly between person and tense.
