Job 29:12

Hebrew	כִּֽי אֲ֭מַלֵּט עָנִ֣י מְשַׁוֵּ֑עַ וְ֝יָת֗וֹם וְֽלֹא עֹזֵ֥ר לֽוֹ
ESV	because I delivered the poor who cried for help, and the fatherless who had none to help him.
NIV	because I rescued the poor who cried for help, and the fatherless who had none to assist him.
NLT	For I assisted the poor in their need and the orphans who required help.

IT is most frequently translated as “and” ὀρφανῷ ᾧ οὐκ ἦνplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigεἰμί greek εἰμί is the first person singular verb for “to be” (εἶναι [the infinitive form] = “to be”). It an irregular verb, and, like English, changes significantly between person and tense. For example εἰμί is the word for am and ἦν is the word for was, e.g. βοηθός ἐβοήθησα
