Isaiah 28:19

In Hebrew, it is a marker of the accusative, i.e. the word following it is the object of the sentence. ESV	As often as it passes through it will take you; for morning by morning it will pass through, by day and by night; and it will be sheer terror to understand the message.

It an irregular verb, and, like English, changes significantly between person and tense. For example εἰμί is the word for am and ἦν is the word for was, e.g. ἐλπὶς πονηρά μάθετε ἀκούειν
