Joshua 5:4

Hebrew	וְזֶ֥ה הַדָּבָ֖ר אֲשֶׁר מָ֣ל יְהוֹשֻׁ֑עַ כָּל הָעָ֣ם הַיֹּצֵא֩ מִמִּצְרַ֨יִם הַזְּכָרִ֜ים כֹּ֣ל אַנְשֵׁ֣י הַמִּלְחָמָ֗ה מֵ֤תוּ בַמִּדְבָּר֙ בַּדֶּ֔רֶךְ בְּצֵאתָ֖ם מִמִּצְרָֽיִם
ESV	And this is the reason why Joshua circumcised them: all the males of the people who came out of Egypt, all the men of war, had died in the wilderness on the way after they had come out of Egypt.
NIV	Now this is why he did so: All those who came out of Egypt-all the men of military age-died in the desert on the way after leaving Egypt.
NLT	Joshua had to circumcise them because all the men who were old enough to fight in battle when they left Egypt had died in the wilderness.
LXX	ὃν δὲplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigδέ greek δέ is a conjunction that can mean “but” or “and” or “also” or “moreover”. It is a word that is used very frequently in the New Testament, and is often unexpressed and not translated in English. τρόπον περιεκάθαρεν Ἰησοῦς τοὺςplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigὁ greek The definite article υἱοὺς Ισραηλ ὅσοι ποτὲ ἐγένοντο ἐνplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigἐν greek Preposition meaning “in”. τῇplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigὁ greek The definite article ὁδῷ καὶplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigκαί greek Meaning * And * Also * Both * Even * Too * So Is a conjunction that connects single words or terms or sentences. IT is most frequently translated as “and” ὅσοι ποτὲ ἀπερίτμητοι ἦσανplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigεἰμί greek εἰμί is the first person singular verb for “to be” (εἶναι [the infinitive form] = “to be”). It an irregular verb, and, like English, changes significantly between person and tense. For example εἰμί is the word for am and ἦν is the word for was, e.g. τῶνplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigὁ greek The definite article ἐξεληλυθότων ἐξ Αἰγύπτου
KJV	And this is the cause why Joshua did circumcise: All the people that came out of Egypt, that were males, even all the men of war, died in the wilderness by the way, after they came out of Egypt.
